Abstract

In both the case of acute gouty attack presented by Dr. Arthur L. Weaver (Case 1; Patient NZ)1 and the case of acute gout and bacterial infection that I presented (Case 2; Patient PA),2 the outcome ultimately was positive. However, these 2 cases illustrate several potential decision points at which care could be improved.
