Abstract

This article presents the results of a research on ethnic-racial relations in the curriculum of basic education in the city of Brumado-BA, supported by the theoretical assumptions of Laclau and Mouffe, with the concepts of hegemony and discourse. The data were constructed through documentary analysis: the curriculum of basic education in the city of Brumado-BA, the National Education Plan (PNE), the Municipal Education Plan (PME) and Law 10.639/2003. The analysis was carried out based on the theory of discourse and allowed us to see a silence about education for ethnic-racial relations in the curriculum, both in the course plan and in the Municipal Education Plan.
