Abstract

This paper aims to reconstruct and identify the role of administrative discretion in the theory of representative bureaucracy. The theory of representative bureaucracy is one of the most important, dynamic and fastest growing thread in contemporary studies of Public Administration. The term “thread” highlights a great diversity of research subjects within the theory of representative bureaucracy, which are based on similar principles and terminology and thereby enable to verify various claims regarding Public Administration. In this sense, representative bureaucracy is, in general, a theoretical approach, which, among other things, provides a wider perspective on administrative discretion.
