Abstract
This paper presents a model manufacturing cell for the testing of modelling and control design methods of discrete-event systems. It is a handling system for the transport and the processing of workpieces. The hardware and automation structure is introduced and its possible applications as a demonstrator of advanced control methods are discussed. It is also shown how this manufacturing cell can be used for education.
