Abstract

The studies of phase relations in the Ba Bi O (BBO) system, which is the parent one for the superconducting Ba K Bi O (BKBO) system, have resulted in discovery of a large number of discrete barium-bismuth oxides. Structures of samples corresponding to two-phase regions formed of Ba-rich layered oxides and the prime perovskite BaBiO 3 have found to be disordered in a similar manner as structures of BKBO samples.
