Abstract

Electrical stimulation of optic nerve with penetrating electrode array for visual prosthesis has been brought forward by our group recently. As a first step to study visual resolution with this visual prosthesis approach, several electrical stimulations of different spatial-temporal patterns were used to investigate the diversity of electrical evoked potentials (EEPs) recorded in the visual cortex. Different EEPs were recorded by different spatial-temporal stimulation patterns, which implies moderate resolution of this optic nerve visual prosthesis.
