Abstract
New phosphide-chalcogenide layered superconductors, AP2−xXx (A = Zr, Hf; X = S, Se), have been discovered. When phosphorus and chalcogen are optimally mixed, the AP2−xXx compounds form a PbFCl-type layered structure and become superconductive with a maximum transition temperature of 6.5 K.
