Abstract

A 73-year-old woman with hypertension and hypothyroidism undergoes a surveillance colonoscopy for a history of nonadvanced adenomas. Her last colonoscopy was 5 years ago where 5 small tubular adenomas were removed with cold snare. A third-year gastroenterology (GI) fellow and attending meet and consent the patient for colonoscopy. Diverticula are noted throughout the left colon with associated restricted colonic mobility and a narrow luminal caliber, making insertion moderately difficult. Two small polyps are removed with cold snare from the ascending colon.
