Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to describe the disciplinary practices of unions in order that the extent and nature of this aspect of the problem of internal democracy may be better understood. It is not the purpose of this paper to condone or condemn any particular union practices, nor to discuss any of the legal limitations on union discipline. The purpose is simply to describe what unions do and why they do it. (Author's abstract courtesy EBSCO.)
