Abstract

Disaster‐related giving accounted for more than half of the total charitable donations made by more than a third of American donors over the last year or so, new research shows—largely the result of the chaos wrought by the COVID‐19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine and numerous wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes and other natural disasters that have all spurred Americans to give.
