Abstract

This is the introduction to the organized session entitled The 2011 Eastern Japan Great Earthquake Disaster -How remote sensing was used, and what we have to do now-. We introduce in this session, how remote sensing methodologies including SAR, GB-SAR and GPR have been used for quick observation of Disaster, just after the event occurred, and how they have contributed to the society in the rehabilitation stage. In this paper, we show some examples of GB-SAR observation of landslide, and GPR used for Tsunami victim survey, and for safety in local community, after the 2011 Eastern Japan Great Earthquake Disaster.
