Abstract

We as embryologists strive to assess positive predictors of embryo viability and implantation, such as early cleavage (EC), embryo quality and absence of MNB and ideally, the presence of 1 nucleus/blastomere. Several published studies have indicated that transferring one or more embryos with MNB (generally, Day 3 post-insemination) greatly compromises a patient’s chance for an ongoing pregnancy. We noted during EC examinations that even these EC embryos can display MNB, but surprisingly, not on subsequent days of examination.
