Abstract

In the first article of this series on disability in the workplace, Ruth Cawston from British Veterinary Chronic Illness Support (BVCIS) shares her advice on navigating the veterinary profession with chronic illness, neurodivergence and disability, including the best ways to manage and talk about it, and how to figure out what you need to thrive at work. The second article, to be published in a subsequent issue of In Practice, will cover how to support a colleague or employee with a chronic condition, neurodivergence or disability and explain the legalities surrounding disability and employment, including demystifying ‘reasonable adjustments’.
