Abstract

Disabled people are nor only capable of being satisfactory employees but often prove superior in terms of continuity, dependability and low rates of occupational injury. Problems in employment of disabled people arise from poor understanding of disablement by employers and the community generally, poor occupational preparation and self‐presentation by disabled workers and the current tight job market. Suggestions are made for improving employment opportunities for disabled workers.
