Abstract

AbstractProcedures yieldingN‐4‐bromo‐1,8‐naphtaloyl‐(S)‐tert‐leucine, [(S)‐4‐Br‐nttl] (1)as a pale yellow solid anddirhodium (II) tetrakis[N‐4‐bromo‐1,8‐naphthoyl‐(S)‐tert‐leucinate] [Rh2{(S)‐4‐Br‐nttl}4] (2)as a pale green powder are presented. Following the procedure are notes on the instruments and chemicals used and required. The chapter concludes with a discussion on rhodium(II) carboxylate dimers as catalysts.
