Abstract
ABSTRACT Two general expansions of urban density models are used to account for directional bias in complex urban forms. These expansions can be applied to simple functions where density is continuously declining with distance, or to more complex functions where maximum density is reached at some distance from the urban center. This approach may be required for more realistic empirical analysis, such as accounting for the axial bias typical of most cities.
