Abstract

The control of parachute systems is challenging problem due to the fact that the environmental conditions have a great impact on the system and they are in an under actuated structure. The time-consuming testing methods in the developed systems make simulation studies inevitable. In this study, a controller system to stabilize the direction of an aerial delivery system with Ram-Air Parachute is developed. First, a simulation platform is designed in MATLAB, Simulink. 6DOF vehicle model is used for simulation. The aerodynamic forces and moments on the vehicle are mathematically modelled and implemented. PID Controllers are developed to control yaw, yaw rate, and descent rate. The roll rate and pitch rate are the observed parameters to investigate the flight stability
