Abstract
A simple geometrical relation is found for predicting the orientation of the elliptic cross section of extended copper single crystal circular bars. Its sensitivity to the relative amount of secondary slip is used to obtain an estimate of the latter quantity. A particular orientation of the X-ray beam is found to reduce asterism of Laue photographs.
