Abstract

In this study, direction of arrival of the source signals are estimated via conventional and adaptive beamformers on linear underwater hydrophone arrays. The beamformers are applied to the synthetic data. The coordinates (depth and the range) of the sources are estimated via matched field process. The simulations are made by considering the underwater environment conditions of the Strait of Istanbul. It is observed that adaptive beamformers provides higher resolution than the conventional ones.
