Abstract
Overcoming barriers! As revealed by deuterium-labeling experiments and computational studies, regioselective gas-phase CH and CC bond activation has been observed for the reaction of valeronitrile (n-C4H9CN) with different metal oxide cations [MO]+ (M=Mg, Ca, Mn), according to the concept of remote functionalization.
