Abstract
This study uses individual-level data to examine the effect of a crib sheet as a learning incentive on the academic performance of students in various sections of economics classes. We find that crib sheet development as a preparation and review tool has a positive and significant impact on student performance. Using crib sheets corresponds to an approximately 2% improvement in test performance. The effects are evident among females, sophomores and music-business majors. The results are robust to a host of variables that can influence learning outcomes including study habits and individual learning styles.
