Abstract

This research work presents a new three-level space vector modulation (SVM) based on artificial neural networks (ANNs) of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) integrated into a wind energy conversion system (WECS) is presented. The traditional direct vector control (DVC) using PI controller presents considerable stator reactive and active ripples. In order to ensure a robust DVC technique for the DFIG-rotor side converter and reduces electromagnetic torque, current, reactive and active ripples, a DVC based on NSVM inverter is used in this work. Simulation results show the efficiency of the proposed technique of control especially on the quality of the provided power comparatively to a DVC with pulse width modulation inverter.
