Abstract
A dehydrative coupling of biaryls and fluorenones proceeds under TfOH- or Tf2O-promoted conditions to deliver the corresponding SBFs directly. This protocol is applicable to double cyclisation, giving the SBF-based highly π-conjugated molecules.
