Abstract

A new method for direct spectrographic determination of thallium in urine of suspected poisoning cases is described. Addition of graphite powder to urine residue produces a steady dc arc discharge. One to five parts per million thallium may be determined, and a determination requires only 30 minutes. Carbon electrodes and a quartz spectrograph were used.
