Abstract

Gum Arabic is a polysaccharide flora origin used as emulsifier in different food industries. In this work, we analyzed three different types of Gum Arabic (GA) called Acacia Senegal, Acacia Seyal and Acacia Nilotica which are grown in different regions of Sudan using Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) technique. Utilizing a self-develop LIBS system, a laser beam at 266 nm was focused on GA samples. We detected high concentrations of calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron, carbon, copper and fluorine present in these GA samples. The concentration of each element varies from one sample to another. Moreover, the determination of plasma parameters was carried out to make sure about LTE plasma condition to avoid the self-absorption processes taking place inside plasma.Gum Arabic is a polysaccharide flora origin used as emulsifier in different food industries.
