Abstract
AbstractFerroelectric domain walls have been observed in LiNbO3 by transmission electron microscopy. The antiparallel nature of the polar transition has been confirmed by contrast analysis. The pinning of domain walls by lattice dislocations is attributed to an interaction with the hydrostatic stress field of an edge dislocation. It is suggested that this interaction may impede the formation of single‐domain crystals using applied electric fields near the Curie temperature.
