Abstract

Data for neutron capture and photonuclear reactions in lead isotopes have been re-analysed and show consistent evidence for an asymmetry in the 43 keV resonance in 207Pb(n, γ). Interpretation of the asymmetry is complicated by the presence of small p-wave resonances but it can be explained by assuming a direct capture cross section of 0.04 b at 1 eV.
