Abstract

A direct modification of the orientational opacity function using information entropy is presented, in which the experimental uncertainty is directly taken into account in the process of maximizing the information entropy. Since the present modification treats the experimental error directly in the computational procedure, it differs from the Engel-Levine method, which is a general modification. The present method was applied to the orientational dependence of the CF* 3 radical formation in the reaction of CF 3H with the Ar( 3P) atom. The result approved the presence of the three reactive sites for the CF 3H reaction and showed the usefulness of the present method for improving the reliability of the opacity function.
