Abstract

We have developed new cold-neutron interferometer of Jamin-type. Clear interference fringes with the contrast of 60% were observed. This is the first success of neutron interferometer using four independent multilayer mirrors. By using this new interferometer, we have measured the transverse coherence length of cold neutron beam directly. The transverse dislocation between the two paths can be controlled with no dispersion. The measured coherence length was consistent with the estimate given by the transverse momentum distribution of incident beam.
