Abstract

Physical quantities between work and tool such as pressure, frictional stress, temperature and heat flux are directly measured in the metal forming process using new developed stress and temperature sensors embeded on the tool surface. Frictional stress distribution and heat flux distribution indicate plastic deformation condition in the work and slipping condition between the work and the tool surface. Direct measurement in the plastic deformation process using sensors will be very useful for the advanced metal forming process.
