Abstract
Iod hilft: Aldehyde acylieren Arene, wenn sie bei niedriger Temperatur mit IPy2BF4 und HBF4 behandelt werden. Diese Reaktion wird für einen neuartigen intramolekularen Zugang zu benzocyclischen Ketonen genutzt (siehe Schema). Außerdem wird ein plausibler Vorschlag für den Reaktionsmechanismus gemacht.
