Abstract
The reactions Y 89(d, α)Sr 87, Zr 90(d, α)Y 88, Zr 92(d, α)Y 90, Pb 208(d, α)Tl 206 and Bi 209 (d, α)Pb 207 were studied with 15 MeV deuterons. Alpha particle angular distributions were obtained for four energy levels in Sr 87. The alpha particle spectra are compared with a qualitative model based on a double pickup mechanism. Angular distributions are analysed using the two-nucleon stripping theory of N.K. Glendenning.
