Abstract
A composite energy storage system is proposed to work in conjunction with the tubular direct drive linear wave energy converters (DDLWECs) which have high power factors. The energy storage system smoothes the output power fluctuations from the tubular DDLWECs and provides stable and dispatch-able electricity to the grid or local load. The system works as a micro-grid system integrating renewable generation and energy storages, and can be stand-alone functioned or grid connected.
