Abstract
Triple differential cross sections for near-threshold direct double photoionization of alkaline earth atoms are calculated within the extended Wannier ridge model. Although these atoms have the same configuration of active electrons as the He atom, the qualitative difference in the angular correlation patterns is revealed. Namely, secondary maxima in the angular correlation patterns are manifested for the alkaline earth atoms which are absent in the case of helium. This structure is related to the behaviour of the radial wavefunctions of s electrons in the alkaline earth atoms.
