Abstract

The cross section for the capture reaction[sup 2]H([alpha],[gamma])[sup 6]Li was measured in the energy range of about [ital E][sub [alpha],lab][approx]2 MeV corresponding to the 3[sup +] resonance in [sup 6]Li at [ital E][sub [ital x]]=2186 keV. Calculations in a direct-capture model using double-folded [alpha]-[ital d] potentials reproduce strength and width of this resonance as well as the nonresonant capture cross section at lower and higher energies.
