Abstract

To examine DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) performance in India critically in the light of its socio-economic impacts and the new technologies which have brought a significant change in economic and behavioral patterns. This paper also takes into account how various forms of cash transfers may influence the economy and the beneficiary’s behavior. Methodology: This study is more of descriptive in nature. The methodology used in the paper is secondary data analysis. A critical analysis of the study's literature is conducted, and some officially disclosed data, estimations and reports from India's direct benefit transfer mission for the years 2013-2021 has also been utilised.
