Abstract

Objective: Surgical approach for jugular paraganglioma (JP) remained challenging surgical problem. Those approaches were well codified by U. Fisch (otolaryngologic approach) and B. George (neurosurgical approach). Both approaches were based on different surgical philosophy and both were effective but complicated. The main problem for Fisch type approaches were facial nerve transposition and obliteration of middle ear spaces. Authors presented their own modification of Fisch approach with rare necessity of middle ear obliteration and low percentage of facial nerve transposition and no dissection of vascular structures in the neck.
