Abstract
Dipuupehedione, a cytotoxic new red dimer of puupehenone was isolated from a New Caledonian marine sponge Hyrtios sp. and its structure established through spectral studies, including extensive 2 D NMR spectroscopy. Dipuupehedione is active on KB cells (IC 50 = 3 μg/ml).
