Abstract

This paper studies contamination by polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and dibenzo furans (PCDFs) of eggs of poultry and wild birds (chicken, duck, Streakeared Bulbul (Pycnonotus blanfordi), and Whiterumped Munia (Lonchura striata)) from ten provinces in the north and south of Vietnam. The concentrations of PCDDs/PCDFs had values from 0.4 to 107.6 pg WHOTEQ2005/g lipid and in the eggs of birds from the southern part of Vietnam they mostly exceeded concentrations in the eggs from the northern part.
