Diolefin cationic iridium(I) complexes with sulfur ligands

Abstract

Abstract The preparation and properties of cationic iridium(I) complexes of the types [Ir 2 (μ-L) 2 (COD) 2 ](ClO 4 ) 2 and [Ir 2 μ-(L-L) 2 (COD) 2 ](ClO 4 ) 2 (COD = 1,5-cyclooctadiene, L and L-L = mono- and bi-dentate sulfur donor ligand, respectively) are described. The mononuclear complexes [Ir(COD)L 2 ]ClO 4 are also described. Reaction with triphenylphosphine gives pentacoordinated mixed complexes of the types [Ir 2 (μ-L) 2 (COD) 2 (PPh 3 ) 2 ](ClO 4 ) 2 , [Ir(COD)L 2 (PPh 3 )]ClO 4 and [Ir(COD)L(PPh 3 ) 2 ]ClO 4 .
