Abstract

N2-broadening coefficients have been measured for 28 lines of12CH3F in theQP,QQ, andQRbranches of ν2parallel band, and in thePP,PQ,PR,RP,RQ, andRRbranches of the ν5perpendicular band, using a tunable diode-laser spectrometer. The lines withJvalues ranging from 3 to 27, andKfrom 0 to 6 (K ≤ J), are located in the spectral range 1416–1553 cm−1. The collisional widths obtained by fitting Rautian profiles to the measured shape of the lines are slightly larger than those derived from Voigt profiles. A semiclassical calculation of the N2-broadening coefficients has provided results that are generally in satisfactory agreement with our experimental data.
