Abstract
Abstract The peculiarities of transmission and angular non-reciprocity in magneto-photonic crystals (MPC) are investigated. The problem of light transmission through magneto-photonic crystal is solved by Ambartsumian’s modified layer addition method. It is shown that the system under consideration can work as a wide band ideal optical diode for orthogonal circular polarizations and as a narrow band ideal optical diode for orthogonal linear polarizations. The influence of the magnitude of external static magnetic field, its direction, and the angle of incidence on the diode properties are investigated.
