Dinuclear iridium alkoxy complexes C 60 fullerene

Abstract

Reactions of C 60 with iridium cyclo-octadiene dimers containing bridging alkoxide groups, Ir 2(OR) 2(1,5-COD) 2 (R = Me, Et, n-Pr, Ph), in a 1 : 1 mole ratio at ambient temperature produced brown solid materials. On the basis of chemical and single crystal X-ray analysis and IR spectra, formulations Ir 2(OR) 2(1,5-COD) 2(C 60) are proposed for these compounds.
