Abstract
Dinocysts from the outcrop at Tchernaya Retchka, located in the type area of the Ryazanian, have been examined and 185 taxa have been identified. Three distinct assemblages of Ryazanian, Hauterivian, and Upper Barremian-Lower Aptian age have been distinguished. In general, the assemblages are very similar to those reported from northwestern Europe. The oldest assemblage, from the Ryazanian ( Riasanites riasanensis ammonite zone; probably the lower part), is correlated with the English Endoscrinium pharo-Pseudoceratium pelliferum dinocyst and stenomphalus-albidum ammonite zones. Six new dinocyst species are described and three new combinations are proposed: Apteodinium gerasimovii Iosifova, sp. nov., A. granuliferum Iosifova, sp. nov., Cribroperidinium volkovae Iosifova, sp. nov., Impagidinium ordocaviopse Iosifova, sp. nov., Lithodinia perforata Iosifova, sp. nov., Muderongia brevispinosa Iosifova, sp. nov., Protobatioladinium rossicum (Iosifova, 1992) Iosifova, comb. nov. and emend., ? Warrenia brevispinosa (Iosifova, 1992) Iosifova, comb. nov., and Batioladinium gochtii (Alberti, 1961) Lentin and Williams, 1977 subsp. rude (Iosifova, 1992) Iosifova, comb. nov.
