Abstract
For Muslims, Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. In the history of Prophet Muhammad, performing Hajj to Jerusalem, located in Saudi Arabia. In carrying out worship, physical abilities (physically and spiritually healthy), financial, and emotional including adaptation are needed. Adaptation includes adapting to cultural differences, including language. Saudi Arabia as a cultural entity, certainly has its characteristics, both language (verbal and non-verbal communication). When Muslims perform a series of Hajj, it only comes from Indonesia, but from all over the world. As an event where interaction occurs, there must be communication Especially in the momentum of Hajj, various races, nations, ethnicities mingle in the same time and space. Various cultural differences among pilgrims often lead to misunderstandings that can be fatal. To eliminate these misconceptions, what pilgrims need to do is to realize the uniqueness of the culture of each person, nation, ethnicity, not trapped in ethnocentrism, and try to develop empathy
