Dilek Yarımadası Defne Alanlarında Fenolojik Gözlemler

Abstract

In this study, phenological observations were done on male and female tress in the natural population in Dilek peninsula in Aydın/Turkey for two years. Both male and female bud burst and beginning of flowering occurred earlier in the second year than in the first year. The period between the beginning and end of flowering female and male trees differed between 20 and 40 days, but it has been determined as 20 days in the most of trees, in the first year. In the second year, this period ranged from 27 to 46 days for female trees, from 22 to 39 days for male trees. However, flowering continued for 27-28 days in the second year in most of the trees and lasted longer than first year. In the spring the vegetative development of the bay laurel trees was earlier in the first year and there were differences among trees. In the second year leaf bud burst started 24 days later but there were less differences among trees in terms of bud burst. Fruit ripening was completed in 189 days in the first year while in 169 days in the second year.
