Abstract

Abstract We study the N = 2 superspace description of the coupling of supergravity to the N = 2 supersymmetric σ-model in two dimensions. The reduction to an n = 1 superfield formulation allows us to identify the dilaton coupling and to conclude that all the relevant information about the dilaton s-function for the N = 2 theory is contained in the radiative corrections to the Kahler potential. In particular we show that the dilation s-function can be determined, at any loop-order, from the knowledge of the lower-loop divergences and the use of the renormalization group pole equations. We present results up to five-loop order for the N = 2 theory and up to four loops for the N = 1 case.
