Abstract
The influence of high degree of cold deformation on the changes in dilatometric properties and temf (thermoelectromotive force) of Fe and CuNi44 alloy (constantan) thermocouple wires was studied, ΔL, α, and temf of wires having 0.5mm final diameter and being cold deformed were measured. Drawing of the wires was carried out under industrial conditions at the FKS Cable Factory. Dependences of α and temf on temperature functions were determined at FKS, ICPE, and the Vinca Institute. Results of experimental investigations show remarkable variation in α and temf introduced by cold deformation of the wires during their drawing. The effects are much more pronounced for CuNi44 than for Fe alloy. Measurements were made within the operating range of this thermocouple, i.e., in the range 20 - 600°C.
