Abstract

Several pathological processes in the region of the head of the pancreas appear as hypodense masses in the computed tomography examinations. Most frequently these are either neoplastic or inflammatory in nature. A case of extremely dilated extrahepatic ducts simulating a hypodense mass in the region of the head of the pancreas is presented.
