Abstract

The energy sector in Uzbekistan has been undergoing digitalization processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the reliability and security of energy supply. This article explores the digitalization efforts in Uzbekistans energy sector, with a focus on smart grid technologies and the adoption of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) for gas and electricity. Uzbekistan has been deploying smart grid technologies to modernize its energy infrastructure, integrate renewable energy sources, and optimize energy generation, transmission, and distribution processes. The adoption of AMI has improved billing accuracy and reduced operating costs. Uzbekistan is investing in renewable energy sources, with a goal to increase its renewable energy capacity to 25% of total electricity generation by 2030. The country is developing a digital energy platform that will use advanced data analytics and machine learning algorithms to optimize energy use and improve the efficiency and reliability of the energy system.
